FBA Inventory Age

FBA Inventory Age tracks how long your products have been in Amazon's fulfillment centers. Manage aged stock to avoid heavy surcharges.

What is FBA Inventory Age?

Inventory Age is a metric that shows how many days your stock has been sitting in an Amazon warehouse. Amazon prioritizes high-velocity products; therefore, the longer an item stays on the shelf, the more 'penalties' it incurs in the form of aged inventory surcharges and a lower IPI score.

How to Track and Manage Aged Stock

  • Review the 'Inventory Age' report in Seller Central weekly
  • Identify units approaching the 180-day mark to avoid surcharges
  • Prioritize 'First-In, First-Out' (FIFO) logic in your sales strategy
  • Use automated removal orders for unsellable or high-age items
  • Leverage Sponsored Products to boost visibility for older stock
